I am a bilingual (English-Spanish) Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Professional Counselors Supervisor in the State of Georgia. I am also a registered domestic relations mediator in Georgia.
I obtained a Doctor of Psychology degree at California Southern University and earned a master’s degree in Psychology with a Specialty in Professional Counseling from Argosy University in Atlanta- Georgia, graduated with honors and received the Outstanding Student Award. I obtained a B.A. in Psychology from Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University and graduate studies in Education from the Pontifical Catholic University in Lima, Peru.
I specialize in couples therapy / marriage counseling. I received advanced training in the Gottman Method for Couples and Marital Therapy from the Gottman Institute in Seattle,Washington. In addition, I received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, developed by Dr. Sue Jonhson from the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) of Canada. I completed training in family therapy from the prestigious Systemic Family Institute of Lima in Peru. I also teach divorce classes to help divorcing parents resolve parent-child conflicts resulting from separation and divorce in Georgia.
I am also an immigration-related-issues expert. In the last years, I have helped hundreds of people from different countries to complete solid clinical evaluations including mental health evaluations for Waivers, VAWA, U-Visa, T-Visa, Political Asylum, and Cancellation of Removal proceedings.
As a well-known community educator, I have appeared in a variety of media programs such as CNN in Español, Univision Atlanta, Miraflores radio, Capital TV, and La Mula TV in Lima-Peru. I have been a reliable source to Atlanta and Lima-Peru area newspapers who published my remarks about psychological issues. I also participated in a weekly live “call-in” radio show in Atlanta where I answered questions about family issues to a Spanish speaking audience. I also participate in psychoeducational webinars in social media.
My professional experience includes my work of 33 years in the mental health and educational fields, including private practice, non-profit organizations, facilitator of psychoeducational groups, and previous work as an Adjunct Faculty for the Pontifical Catholic University and the Sacred Heart Feminine University of Peru. I am the founder and the clinical director of the Counseling Institute of Atlanta. I specialize working with couples, families, individuals, immigration evaluations, workers compensation cases, domestic violence, abuse / trauma, bariatric evaluations, and anger management evaluations and treatment. I can also help parents that are in a divorce process through family counseling services including custody and visitation issues.
I am the assistant director at the Counseling Institute of Atlanta. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia. I am a trilingual therapist (Spanish, English, and Portuguese) graduated with a B.A in Clinical Psychology from Spain. I graduated as a Mental Health Counselor at Argosy University in Atlanta. I am a bilingual, Spanish/English Licensed Professional Counselor, a Registered Play Therapist/Supervisor and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. I have forty years of experience in the mental health field doing individual, family and group therapy for children, adolescents, adults and couples. I am a member of the Association for Play Therapy and the regional branch Georgia Association for Play Therapy. I have offered a wide variety of workshops for self-growth and seminars to adults and couples. I have experience working with a multicultural population and has supervised student interns over her years of clinical experience.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I am originally from Paraguay and speak three languages (Spanish, Italian, and English). I completed my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University in 2018. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology back in 2014 from Georgia State University where I did a research practicum at the Learning and Development Lab studying how young children learn from people around them and how they think and act based on experiences. I also did an applied practicum at Caminar Latino, a non-profit organization that works with Latino families affected by violence, where I facilitated children and youth sharing groups.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia with 22 years of experience as a counselor.
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, after earning my bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
I volunteered with the Habitat for Humanity project in Nicaragua, assisting in the development of Habitat’s first housing project in Nicaragua. I stayed in Nicaragua working in another non-profit organization, Witnesses for Peace, in war zones.
After experiencing the effects of war and a hurricane in Nicaragua, I returned to the US to study how to facilitate a process of emotional recovery from experiences of trauma and loss. I received a scholarship to study at FSU with one of the world’s leading trauma therapists, Dr. Charles Figley, founder of the Green Cross Project and the Trauma Institute.
There, I was trained in various techniques for working with trauma, such as EFT, CBT, and EMDR.
Through Green Cross, I provided crisis intervention and brief trauma therapy after 9/11 in New York, with survivors in a labor union, some of whom worked at the Twin Towers. Since completing my studies, I have been providing individual, couple, and family therapy in English and Spanish for 22 years, in various capacities, including an agency that works with survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Florida, and later in various communities in Nicaragua affected by Hurricane Mitch.
I have also worked in a community mental health clinic with people with severe mental disorders such as major depression, bipolar, or schizophrenia and more recently in non-profit agencies with clients with a wide variety of problems such as depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, abuse sexual or domestic trauma, and loss, as well as family problems, or work-related or behavioral problems of children and adolescents at school.
In addition to working on emotional recovery with survivors of abuse or other crimes, I wrote letters to accompany U-Visa and VAWA applications, or petitions to appeal deportation. I love working with individuals, couples, and families, children, teens, and adults, taking on an eclectic perspective that utilizes their strengths while working with my clients’ needs, preferences, and goals.

I am a bilingual (Spanish-English) psychiatrist, board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I am Licensed in Georgia and Florida. I have years of professional experience working in our community for different agencies/clinics in Florida and Georgia. I graduated as a medical doctor from Central University of Venezuela in 1987. I completed an internship in child and adolescence psychiatry in the same university from 1988 to 2003. I completed a psychiatry residency at the Jackson Memorial Hospital from the University of Miami, Florida from 1996 to 2000 and a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship from 2000 to 2001.

I am the co-founder of the Counseling Institute of Atlanta. I am originally from Peru and have thirty years of professional experience in the field of education and learning problems. I earned my bachelor's degree in Education from the Sacred Heart University in Peru. I obtained my license in Elementary Education at the Instituto Pedagogico Nacional de Monterrico in Lima, Peru. I also completed an Specialization in Language and Learning problems at the prestigious Peruvian Audition and Language Center-CPAL.
I worked as an Elementary Teacher from 1989 to 2002 in public and private schools in Peru. I was also part of a national plan in Peru for the training of elementary-level teachers, I participated as an instructor and collaborated with the design and plan and assessment of the program in 1996-1998.
In Peru, I worked for nine years as a therapist of language and learning problems, both in schools and private practice. I participated in the design of activities and articles of school texts in the Language Arts area.
In Atlanta, I continued teaching Spanish for Adults at the Atlanta Academy of Language Learning and at Stone Mountain High School. I am a certified Life Coach in Atlanta, Georgia and I obtained a diploma in Assessment and Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD at the Integral Center for Business and Psychological Growth from Peru.
I am a bilingual (Spanish- English) Mexican native who came to the U.S at an early age. I graduated from Norcross High School and I am currently continuing my education. I have worked as a secretary for different firms and have an extensive knowledge of our clients' needs.

I am also the PTA president for Summerour Middle School. Because of this position, I initiated a “Fruit Stand,”this was a project where I incorporated healthy eating as well as Latin culture into the school. It was a success and I am in the process of bringing it to different schools throughout the county. I am an active leader of our community. I graduated from the Metropolitan University of Barranquilla and obtained a B.A in Psychology in Colombia. I have a degree in Administrative Management and Human Resources from Universidad del Norte de Barranquilla. I am the lead administrator at the Counseling Institute of Atlanta. I am also a life coach.
In the clinical field, my experience began in 1999 with the Colombian National Army being an active member and working not only with the military population in clinical psychology but also with the population affected by the internal conflict in my country.
Alternating my work in the organizational area of psychology, I was linked in 2004 to 2006 in CIPRI (Center of professionals for Integral rehabilitation) where I performed psychotherapy with children, adolescents, adults and couples, some of them with physical limitations and cognitive problems, I was the Administrative Manager of the VIDA PLENA Clinic from 2012 to 2013 in the city of Barranquilla, where I also performed Brief and Urgent Psychotherapy on patients who required it. In addition, in the last two years of her stay in Colombia, I was doing social work at the San Jose geriatric home in the city of Barranquilla, where I supported the process of adapting the new members into the activities of the geriatric home.

I was brought to the United States at an early age. I grew up in New Jersey graduated High School and moved to Pittsburgh PA for a two year program at The Wilma Boyd School for Business and travel, after those 2 years moved back home worked at the Newark airport as a customer service representative for Delta Connections and Northwest Airlink and continue my education at the Ultrasound Diagnostic Institute for my Medical Assistant certification, I work as medical assistant with a cardiology office and transfer over to Trinitas Hospital at the Cardiology Department. I loved the medical field and decided to continue my education in the nursing program at Union County College where I did three years and moved to Massachusetts and continued at the Northern Essex Community College for 2 years, not giving up on the goal to become a nurse as helping people is what I strive for. Moved to Atlanta to help family and planned to register at the Gwinnett Community college. I also enjoy being a children’s teacher at my church whenever possible.
